dc.description.abstractThe part per million defect at Rexam Closures & Containers has gradually increased in the last few years. The costs associated with this trend have also experienced an increased. The focus of this project is the reduction of rework and scrap by expanding the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in the manufacturing departments of Rexam Closures & Containers, Evansville Facility. In completing this project we looked at Rexam's current SPC use and through interviews and experimentation determined the format for future use. The project specifically looks at three primary customers: Customer One, Customer Two, and Customer Three. The project's ultimate purpose is to indicate the advantages of using SPC, that incorporates variable gauges and electronic data input using the software package WinSPC, and justifying SPC's use at Rexam Closures & Containers.
