dc.description.abstractln conjunction with a plant equipment upgrade at the Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company (SIGECO), F.B. Culley Station to reduce Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emissions, it was agreed upon by SIGECO and the equipment manufacturer that tighter control of individual pulverizer air-to-fuel ratios is critical in achieving optimum performance of the affected boiler. This paper delineates steps taken by SIGECO management to most effectively monitor and control operational parameters that affect the process. The final product of this project is a plant policy and procedure for assuring that these operational objectives are met.
